The Studio

Our Studio

The MAP Studio is located at 76 Hawdon Street on the outskirts of central Ōtautahi Christchurch in Sydenham.

Primarily used for contemporary dance classes, workshops, and events, the space is versatile and fit for purpose for a wide range of applications, and is available for hire.

It be used for training, research, teaching and more. Available day and night, week and weekend.

The studio is 10 x 10m, with a sprung Marley dance floor, toilet and kitchen facilities, as well as office space, an PA sound system, and roller door access to bring in larger items to the space.

Community rate $15/hour
Commercial rate $30/hour

*Discounts for long bookings and projects available on request

Other Studio Happenings

Residency Events

Our artists in residence host showings, performances and workshops as part of their residency. These events are open to the public and encourage discussion and feedback regarding their work.

These events are shared on our social media channels.

Pop-up Classes & Workshops

We facilitate movement classes and workshops by local and international guest tutors. These events are often koha/donation based and offer the local community opportunities to engage their mind and body.

Private Lessons & Workshops

At MAP we run one-on-one training suited to your specific needs. Having access to a wide network of tutors and practitioners, we can help you find the right tutor.
